9/22/2023 0 Comments Neat receipts macintoshWe stopped manufacturing and selling scanners over 5 years ago and while we've been able to support them since then, the Ventura OS has rendered them incompatible. Drivers cannot be installed on Mac OS Ventura and existing drivers from a previous Mac OS that was upgraded to Ventura will not function properly and will display the message "waiting for scanner" when attempting a scan but no scan will actually occur.Ĭhanges in the Ventura OS no longer recognize the USB technology and drivers that the old Neat scanners use. Unfortunately, current Neat drivers are not compatible with Mac OS Ventura. I see you opened a chat interaction with us yesterday where you reported issues using a Neat scanner with the Mac Ventura OS system. If this is something you would like to do, then please open a case here: *************************************************************įinally, while Neat has transitioned into focusing on our cloud application and tools for financial management for small businesses, you can continue to use your Neat scanner for FREE using the Neat Scan Utility. If the data can be restored, we recommend that you move your data out of the Legacy Neat Software immediately to avoid future data loss. We can't guarantee that we will be able to recover anything, but it's worth a shot. I wasn't able to pull up any case history for you, however, if you still have access to an old Legacy backup or database files then we can provide a one-time courtesy support session where an agent can attempt to assist you to recover that data from one of these old versions. By choosing to continue to use the Neat Legacy software you take full responsibility for your data and take on the risk of losing that data. Other factors have also led to issues with the Neat Legacy software like Microsoft's decision to discontinue Visual C++ 20 Redistributable Packages, which were required for running the Neat Legacy software. We have encouraged Legacy users for years to move their data out of these old versions because inevitably newer operating systems would eventually render these versions obsolete. Since the retirement of the Neat Legacy software, our message is and has always been, that any customer who still has the Legacy software can continue to use it as is, however, it is at your own risk as we do not provide any support for these versions. We've sent out dozens of communications about this, made a formal announcement to the market about this, and have had details about the retirement of this software version on our support site for 8 years. That version of the software was retired over 8 years ago and has not received updates or enhancements since then. Neat has not suddenly stopped supporting that software. It appears you're referring to the old retired Neat Legacy software that came for free with a purchased Neat scanner. Vogel is also an editor and co-founder of Unbreaded, a Philadelphia-based website covering sandwich news, reviews, recipes and more.I'm sorry for any trouble. It sells products in Costco, Amazon, OfficeMax and other retail locations. The Neat Company, founded in 2002, employs 60 people in its University City office and another 60 in kiosks around the country. Vogel said that the company’s decision to market the package to Apple users is based on the national market. The information is then archived as digital records in the software application. Neatworks for Mac allows large batches of documents to be processed at the same time-up to 10 receipts, 10 business cards and 10 documents simultaneously. “Basically, it can scan any type of document, receipts, business cards, and other documents into a digital format using OCR and patented parsing technology that identifies different types of data on different documents,” Director of Marketing Jeff Vogel said. Now Apple-heads, too, can scan receipts, business cards and documents using Neat’s faster, yet more expensive, software and scanning system. On Monday, the company announced NeatDesk For Mac, its automatic document feed (ADF) scanner with an Apple version of its popular NeatWorks scanning software, according to a press release. University City-based software development firm The Neat Company is increasing its presence on that list. There’s IndyHall Labs‘ selection of Mac apps, iSepta‘s iPhone offering, and of course, independent Apple specialists Bundy Computer and Springboard Media based in Center City and Center City West, respectively. It’s great to be an Apple user in Philadelphia.
